Colors In Skin
11x13, Watercolor, 2019
In my Junior year of high school, I took my first painting class. We first focused on shadows versus light values in black and white. Soon after, we moved on to study color, how to mix it, and how to find it in places and things you wouldn’t expect, like in skin. In this self portrait, I used a mirror and focused on accentuating the underlying colors in my face.
